I bought the S24 Ultra for several reasons, the 200mp isn't near the top of the list.
Bought it direct from Samsung, mainly for the uo graded storage, 512gb same price as 256gb, great trade in money for my old galaxy, extra $100 discount, $50 discount for early "reserve", and cash from buying accessories (I went with a wireless charger".
As far as the phone design, I much prefer the flat screen vs curved side on older Ultras. The ram is higher than the S24รท, (12gp vs 8gb), the battery also has mire capacity.

Holy smoke! Went to buy a new android phone. Amazing.. one has a 200 mp rear camera. I can't imagine that. They had it wired up to the display so did not get to try it out. My last phone was 7 years old, the newer ones are amazing. Why would anyone want a 200 mp rear camera? What are your thoughts?

Indeed why? 200 MP images will eat up memory fast. I guess it will help sell more RAM for the phone.

Do you mean eat up Storage?
I'm sure you can't increase the Ram, which is 12mp for the S22, S23 or S24Ultra and 8mp for the S2x & S2x+ series.

Well, considering that files are stored in memory.....

How finely do you like to split hairs?
Working memory and "storage" memory".
It's ALL memory, and it stores something.

Now then there is free memory, used memory, dedicated memory, reserved memory, temporary memory, ...
I'll bet we can split those hairs even further.

Only Admin can delete posts. You have some time to Edit the post where you can delete the text. After which the post is permanent, unless you ask Admin to delete it.

The photo is a .jpg file. I did wait and preview the post. That's how I knew it didn't have an image. It says "Error 2" when trying to upload the photo.

How do you expand memory/ram, for a mobile phone?
Mine happens to have 12gb, most top phones have 8gb.

Wow, I've never received an error 2.
No errors as a matter of fact.

Maybe the UHH server (or your ISP) hiccuped?

Most manuf's offer different memory options, you have to purchase the phone with the additional memory.

From the Samsung site -
Overall, for most casual smartphone users 64GB phone memory is enough, although many people prefer to choose between 128GB and 256GB

My S21 came with 128GB, of which I appear to be currently using 33GB.
No capability to add additional memory. (bummer)
But I should be good.

What the web says: The 200MP sensor can take good photos in both broad daylight and low light. Photos in normal mode have captured most details and if you turn on Night Mode, the images will be on the brighter side.

For $1200 - I'll pass.

I bought one but have not used it yet. I did not buy it for only the camera.

I didn't either, just <basically> the phone.
But the camera is a real handy add-on.

64GB will give you 320 frames at 200 MB per frame.

64GB less the memory that the system and other apps use.

Augh, augh, augh.

My S21 has pixels,
I don't remember how many....
Nor care?
I like the images, but not conducive to printing 8x12s.

I have a Samsung S22 Ultra which has 4 regular cameras: 0.6x, 1.0x, 3.0x and 10.0x, plus the selfie camera. I have made A4 size prints from each of the 4 regular cameras and I'm very happy with the results. Friends and family cannot tell whether the prints came from my D850 or my S22. Very happy with my phone. Planning to buy either an S24 Ultra or an S25 Ultra to get the AI instant translation ability once I'm sure that the bugs are out. (Too lazy/stupid to learn Thai!)
Cheers,
