Thanks Joe. I've literally seen tens of thousands of Northern Shovelers in almost 70 years of birding and I have never seen behavior like that.

Very nice work, Jack. Sometimes near our little lakes recirculating pumps I see this. Do you think that the pumps create a feeding spot?

Thanks Mike. I think you may have hit on it. I have very little experience birding Sewage Treatment Plants

Maybe others have had the same experience
