OK. What did you do to get him or her to do this. Whatever it was you should patent it. Thanks wonderful photo. Post more when you can. Thanks be SAFE!!

Sticking his tongue out at you? How nasty!
Great pic!
Great capture, Dave, LOL.
I think it is part of the flehman response. Males pull back their lips and sometimes stick out their tongue to direct inhaled air to a very sensitive smell detector. They are seeking females in heat, whose hormones are giving off a particular aroma. Still a great shot. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your comments. We are safe, but sometimes you can end up in precarious situations, so being alert is quite important. Spring time with protective mothers make Big Horn and bears deserve extra caution. We typically visit prior to mid-June or after Labor Day, but the busy season has been expanding. Our friend of several years has been a Gardiner, Mt., North Gate area resident of over forty years and has verifiable proof of several hundred thousand miles of park travel and has been a great help in our ventures.
Recent shot I posted a little while ago, also with some attitude and close due to no fault of mine, a little rare Marten:

Probably tired of the tourists, but chose to gather by the road in a two million acre park!
Be there no doubt that the wildlife owns the park!
Or has not had his Coffee yet??? But please leave him alone….
I have been told that when God created these creatures ( Martin,Wolverines, etc) that he gave them the same attitude as a Grizzly Bear but never told them they were not as big as one…..
