My EOS R came with the 24-240 lens. Whenever I try to use the multiple exposure feature I get "Not available with the attached lens". when I grab my adapter and use any of my lenses from the 6D on the R, it all works fine. Do I have to buy a non-R lens to get the 24-240 focal length?

I don't think you will be able to find a non R-Lens in that focal length.

I am not quite sure what feature is not working. I have the Canon RF 24-240 and use it extensively on both my Canon R and R5 with no problems.

The feature in question is the feature specified by the OP in his query. Read it more slowlier.

Just got that same result with my *only* RF lens, a 16/2.8, so I read the section in my D Busch book. Its says that the multi exposure feature will disable certain lens corrections.
I suspect that both your superzoom and my superwide are wonky optical designs that are so dependent on in-camera image correction that the firmware does not allow disabling of those corrections when using these lenses.
Since neither of us (??) has a more ordinary RF lens for testing my idea, we must wait for some better equipped kindly R-user to check out the situation and reveal the facts.

If not Canon EF then maybe a Sigma or Tamron "superzoom" in EF mount ?
It doesn't have to be that exact focal length. That is just what it came with.
Thanks for the insight. It does make sense.
