Yelling goes right over the heads of children, but soft words have great impact.

Forgiveness came more easily for me when I realized that my parents did the best they could with the material at hand. And that the material did not include a manual!

Good ones.
Here are a couple of my own.

Even a mother bird knows when to let their children fly.

If your effort to raise your children didn't work as well as you thought it should, that qualifies you to suggest to other parents what NOT to do.

Mark,
I don't usually respond to the UHH submissions, but I would like you to know how much I appreciate all of your impressive number of music submissions and now, of course another one like Children. Best wishes; I hope to enjoy many more of your entries.

I raised two children, a son and a daughter. From birth they were different in every respect. He was a problem child from the beginning, and got a tremendous amount of support and counseling, yet to this day at 49 he is a nightmare. Not easy for me to say. I have no idea what we could have done differently. They say if a child doesn’t turn out right it’s the parents fault. I no longer believe that, in all cases.
My daughter, she’s just amazing, and if anything I’m guilty of not giving her as much attention as I should have because we were overwhelmed with our son.

I raised two boys and yep...as different as daylight and dark.
The bad part is that we start out unexperienced. We just do our best and hope we've done all we can. When they reach a certain age, the rest is up to them.
