I really don't care for saying thanks. But I do acknowledge a suggestion. Saying thanks doesn't mean much to me. But I do say it although I don't think it means much. I would say yah that's a perfect solution or your suggestion sucks I would never want to do that.

You really don't like to say "thank you"? How do you respond to a compliment or a helpful suggestion?

I'm not a pro... but I drop by at least once a day. I don't have questions. If there is a technical question (not photo related, generally) I try to answer it. If there is a comment in 'chit chat', I may add to it. If I find something photo related and interesting, I'll post it. I enjoy the site; it's good.

I was unaware there was a ticking clock when I opened a forum on UHH. If people answer my insane musings, Fine! If not, also Fine! I don’t keep tabs on everyone here. I have a few in my buddy list. I mean very few!

When I see a suggestion that I know is wrong, I will say something for the benefit of those who may try to try it.

While I do say thank you because that is the American custom but really I don't like it. The often said "Thank you" are so fake in my opinion.

How long when you post a question on the UHH before you check back for answer? I found so many UHH posted questions and never camera back with a response even if it's a F*** word. I much rather see that than a question and then I tried to answer the OP just never acknowledge. I think that is a greater insult than using bad words.
I never tell anyone to go ask Mr. Google and I am not Mr. Google.

Hope it wasn't me. If it was=apologies! I do this sometimes & look at so many threads here, I don't remember which one but remember showing some interest in one. I try to get back by the next day the latest & if don't remember which thread, sometimes scrolling helps jar thee ole memory. I guess I'll start writing a note on questions asked so can make sure to reply.

Linda,
Boy is that so true!!

I am a “retired” professional photographer and at 66 years old, I am indeed busier and more in demand, than ever!

As far as responding to one’s questions…
(Ftr: I have never asked a question, on uhh), I agree with you, that not everyone has time to be on this site all day.
I also understand the other side of this.
I believe that if you post something, you do have the responsibility to read and respond to the answers, in a timely manner.
Not to respond or acknowledge, at all, would be very rude, but if the responder takes time, because of “life”, I get that too.
We are here to share our experience and knowledge, a nobel cause.

No it's not you! I meant to say it was akamerica but he came back and posts many responses today. What I really mean is that. When you post a question, some will try to help but there are some that would say something like why do you ask? or why do you want to do that? or what a stupid question. Even if that the case, please do not simply walk away.

Where are you from, originally, that "Thank you" isn't said or is considered "fake"? I've been to many countries and have never not said thank you or not been told thank you as a courtesy.

That is interesting. North or South? Would it be different depending on where in Vietnam? How would you acknowledge a gift? (Or would you?)

The camera back is too opaque to response.

You would say somethng like. "I have receive your xxx and I like it very much etc... " to acknowledge and you should remember that you got the gift from that person.

I identify with that statement! God put me on earth to do a certain number of things. I am so far behind now, that I will probably never die! Wishful thinking...

I join you in with that. Too much to do in retirement so that we don't get bored and our friends get fed up with us relying on them to keep us amused.
