I need some service for my Canon Rebel T8i EOS 850D so I went to the Canon Service site and no T8i options listed like it never existed. So I guess that I am out of luck for anything on the latest edition of the Rebel series? I never have seen anything on the ‘net about its lifespan ending. I am very disappointed in It being dropped….I loved this camera for my needs.

Next I went to B&H and they listed it as discontinued! Bummer, was it such a bad seller that it is gone already? Probably could scare up some refurbished units here and there…but that does not appeal to me much….one note, I could not sign into my Canon Account as I am having password problems at the moment, will there be more help available on my account when I get full in?

I guess I am forced into looking at replacing my camera body, I think the next option for my budget will be the 90D and use my EF-70-300 IS II USM lens on it. Any comments or ideas from you more knowledgeable persons here?
Thanks all. Walt

I did a short search and found no accommodation available for the body you listed. It just may be time to upgrade to a better unit.
A 7DII would be a significant improvement for you and they are within your budget I think.

Before you pull your hair out, contact Rick J Riggins. An e-mail is best. Remember, he is very busy repairing everyone camera.

Please use the e-mail feature and send him a text at rjriggins11. You could call but that will be in another time zone. Make sure you have another camera to work with while he is repairing your camera.

I believe Canon discontinued all of their DSLR but the T8i is a relatively new model I think they should still service it. I think in general they would continue service the camera for 10 years after dicontinuation.

Curious that Canon Repair lists the T7i, but not the T8i. Call the number below to double-check:

"You may wish to consider the wide variety of product upgrades available only to Canon customers at a discounted rate. Simply call us toll free at 866-443-8002. This offer is subject to availability of products in the Canon Upgrade Program, and any associated terms and conditions, at the time any offer is accepted. Product availability in the Upgrade Program may be limited, and is subject to change."

In case you change your mind about a camera upgrade, B&H does have a gray market new Rebel T81 + two in the Used Dept.

Email? Text? Do you mean private message via UHH? Click below for his profile, then click "send private message."

(btw, as I write this, his website shows as being "temporarily" down.)

Rick’s website (discountcamerarepair.com) was down for a time last week, but then up later. It has always been kind of flaky and has needed work. However, in a recent post, he emerged to address an issue a UHH poster brought up. So….he's definitely around, so a PM is likely to get his attention.

Helloooooo ... its an SLR ?!? Fortunately, its not a Nikon.

Unlike Nikon, Canon does not saboutage the independent repair shops. Good luck with it.
