Great series, and I am pleased to see that your father's VA was responsive to his needs.
Thanks and I just love that VA and their people. They really helped me get my dad situated this past month. 2 chair lifts (1 inside and 1 outside), better portable oxygen tanks, setup Companion Care which sends a person to the house 3 days a week for 3 hours to help him with whatever he wants (mail, trash, grocery shopping, laundry ect.), Setup Home Base Care - which this service is AMAZING!
Home Base Care consists of a team of specialist that will come to the house instead of him having to travel to the VA. Nurse comes in 1 once month unless she feels she is needed more, Dr will visit once a year unless requested more by the nurse. Then he also has a dietician, occupational therapist, physical therapist and a program called Deprescrib - which will look at all his prescriptions and work to take him off stuff that might no longer be needed.
Was able to get him setup with a close Lung and Heart Dr via the VA as well.
It was a busy month!

A truly great set, Cindy. I have never wanted to go on a cruise. To me, it would be like staying in town except I would be floating. Too many people around for me.
It was fun but I wouldn't take another cruise. It was a large ship with about 7000 people on board (passengers + crew), we had 3 ports that we stopped at but we spent to much time on the boat. And since me and my hubby are not big drinkers or sitters - we got bored easy. There was enough entertainment on board to help keep us busy and the shows were good just not our thing.
Very nice series, Cindy. You were a blessing to your dad to do all that for him. By the way, my wife is from Butler, Pa. Thanks for sharing your vacation.
A great travel series for sure Cindy! We Montanan's can dress up once in a while! Very nice photo of you and your hubby. :) A salute to your father for his military service.
Wonderful set and narrative, Cindy! You youngsters are getting the retirement thing right.
What a wonderful series. Looks like you had a great time with family.

We went on a cruise thru Carnival on the Mardi Gras ship at the end of January for 7 days. Stopped at Nassau Bahamas, Amber Cove and Grand Turk. Went with my sister and her family as well as other friends...was a blast hanging with family but don't think I would do another cruise like that.
After the cruise we went directly to PA to visit my father and the rest of the family. Hubby is from the same town and his family is still there as well. So it was busy visiting and trying to see everyone but I loved it.
Here are a few from the cruise as well as from one of the hikes we took in PA. I really didn't have much time in PA to get out and about. My dad is 87 and I was working on getting the VA to setup various benefits for him, so I was on the phone ALOT. But I have to say I just love the Butler PA VA center...they are amazing!

A really nice set Cindy. My wife and I go on a lot of cruises and we have been to the same area you went to. We have another one coming up soon that I can't wait to go on. I like the second sunset the best..

Great set Cindy. There's something special about sunset from a cruise ship.
If you're interested, I'm about to post the first set of many sets from a two week Med cruise, followed by a one week Rhine cruise, both on Viking.
Nice set. 30 years goes by really fast
