Thanks for looking. Bees seem to be in decline over the past few years
Fortunately the feral bee population has been coming back the last few years. Vorrora and tracheal mite along with colony collapse disorder (CCD) devastated both kept and feral colonies. Beekeepers using mite insecticides is the only thing that kept them going. It seems that survival of the fittest has kicked in and there are feral colonies again that can tolerate the mites. CCD still hurts beekeepers, often killing off 25-35% of the colonies each year. Researchers still aren’t 100% sure of what causes CCD.
A few years back I literally didn’t see any honeybees at all the entire summer.

Last year almost all my bee shots were feral bees. Hoping for more European Honey Bees both because we need them and because they seem less aggressive than their cousins.
