Mild Winter!

I can remember using my snow blower just twice this winter, with 8" being the deepest snowfall. The past two days, we set a record for high temperature. It was 58° at my house. Today, we're back to a mild winter, with temperatures in the 30s. I put my snow tires on right before we were supposedly going to get 12" of snow. We got about 2", instead. I'm hoping that March brings us mild weather.

Our winter has been a little more severe than usual. I think it got down to the low 50s a few weeks ago and we had a few days in JAN that did not make it any higher than 65.

I actually had to wear long pants and a sweater.

Oh, quick question what is a "snowblower"?

That is great!!

I actually lived in Omaha, NE for a couple of years and lived in a rented townhouse. We were required to shovel the sidewalks in front of our apartments when it snowed. I started shoveling in OCT when the first snow hit. The temps never got high enough to melt any of the snow for the rest of the winter. By the time APR and MAY rolled around the snow I had shoveled to the sides of the sidewalk was at least four to five feet high.

A snowblower would have come in handy. One good thing from that winter though was that I came out of it in the best shape of my life. Snow shoveling is a great exercise if it does not kill you first.

That was around 45 years ago and I enjoyed cold weather then. Not so much today.

50 degrees when I got up yesterday and 22 when I got up this morning. I'll be glad when things warm up and the temperature remain stable.

I like the change of seasons - hot and cold.

We've had more snow than usual this winter; plowed the driveways four time so far with probably more snow before the end of winter, normally around the end of May. A couple of cold spells at or below -40, so winter pretty much as normal.

While mild winters are nice they create problems!! the water tables get lower , ticks are worse, and some plants that require a hard freeze may not come back.
We need a hard freeze here the ticks were bad last summer and will be worse this summer.

I know what you mean. Yesterday it was 70 degrees and sunny. I actually had to take my long sleeve shirt off on my walk. So annoying.

I can remove snow here with a weed blower. Sometimes living in Missouri has its benefits.

Our winters can vary greatly. I remember back in about 1972, we had a big storm every Thursday for several weeks. I was plowing with a Jeep then, so I kept busy. I feel sorry for the guys around here who bought new vehicles or plows this winter.

I chuckle when I hear folks complaining about "Climate Change". Our design outdoor temperatures are -2F in the winter and 98F in the summer. That's a 100-degree change in our climate. The only folks that have very little change are those located close to the equator. 😁
