That's a great shot...
Having been born and raised in Norther Michigan, and since my mother and my birthdays were in the same week in August, traditionally we would go up to the UP to celebrate, to places like the Soo Locks or Mackinaw Island or Tahquamenon Falls. I guess the first time I was there would have been close to 70 years ago (I'll be 77 this coming August).
The oldest pictures that I've got were taken in August 1965, when my girl friend (now my wife of 56 years) and I went up there for my 18th birthday. This was when I was using a Kodak Brownie Starlet camera.
That last time we were there was in July 2021, when we were there with our two oldest sons and four of our five granddaughters .
If it's OK with the OP, I'd like to post some of my images taken over the years.

Great shot!
Looks like you found a higher location to shoot from, than the stairs/viewing platform.
Thanks. You are exactly right.

Thanks, Greg. Mostly I got lucky - the light, the mist, the colors.

Yes, my freshman year at 'da Tech', Tony Esposito, of future NHL fame, was a senior and our team's goalie. That's when they were still playing in an unheated stadium and it only cost students a buck to attend a game (and we still found ways to sneak in for free).
Anyway, below is a sampling of our visits to Tahquamenon Falls:
The 'Upper' or larger Tahquamenon Falls - August 1965 - Kodak Brownie Starlet
In those days, you could literally walk-up to the edge of the falls (they don't allow that anymore) - August 1965 - Kodak Brownie Starlet
This is the 'Lower' or smaller Tahquamenon Falls. This was taken while we were on our honeymoon - June 1967 - Kodak Brownie Starlet
And this was when we visited with our two oldest sons, who were two and three-years old at the time - August 1973 - Minolta 600-X
Another visit, still during my film days - September 2002 - Minolta X-700, 75-150mm
And from our last visit - July 2021 - Sony a6500, 18-135mm
And this is our oldest son, with three of our granddaughters, the youngest of which (on the right), is now a student at my alma mater, Michigan Tech - July 2021 - Sony a6500, 18-135mm
Thaks to luvmypets, NMGal, Mark Romoff, Curmudgeon, jerryc41, yssirk123, Bruce T, tcthome, jederick, Gampa, W9OD, ORpilot, kpmac, Earnest Botello, Wingpilot, Bridges, John Matthew. Much appreciated.

Awesome story and shots to match
The Lighting is wonderful.
Wonderful. It looks like a scene out of a dream.
Nice shot. there must have been no wind since the trees show no movement.
