Both MSW and Dirt Farmer make good points. But the other thought that comes to mind as far as horse turds go is the horse's ass. He's running for congress.....

Common sense? 🤣🤣🤣
Not too much of that around any more, as evidenced by Congress.

I believe all women should look good by wearing nice clothing and some makeup but not too much.i once went to install a phone for a lady probably in her mid 20s about 35 years ago.i knocked on her door about 8:30 in the morning and she came to the door in a robe .I identified myself and told her I would be back in a little bit.i came back about 30 minutes later and a gorgeous lady came to the door so I told her to tell the other lady to check her phone to see if it worked.she immediately asked ," what other lady? That's when I realized this was the same lady but she was now wearing a nice dress and had all her makeup and not a hair out of place.i immediately told her I was also working down the street with another lady's telephone service and could she please check her phone.she did and it worked.she picks up her purse and proceded to get in her car.i got in my truck and drove ahead of her down the blocking parked as if I was working there too.as soon as she got to the corner and turn I proceeded to my next job. That was a close one.

My wife and I worked as Trade Show and Convention display installers/de-installers (15 + years).
One of the more “interesting” shows were the Mary Kay Conventions. Makeup almost troweled-on some of the “pinkers”. Scary stuff . . . .

Unfortunately, common sense has become pretty rare.

Emulated and imitated. John Lennon foretold this day when it was still far in the future with these lyrics-
I'm sick and tired of hearing things from Uptight, short sighted, narrow minded hypocrites
All I want is the truth, just give me some truth
I've had enough of reading things
By neurotic, psychotic, pigheaded politicians
All I want is the truth
Just give me some truth
No short-haired, yellow-bellied
Son of Tricky Dicky's
Gonna Mother Hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocket full of hope
Money for dope
Money for rope, woo-hoo
No short-haired, yellow-bellied
Son of Tricky Dicky's
Gonna Mother Hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocket full of soap
Money for dope
Money for rope
I'm sick to death of seeing things from
Tight-lipped, condescending, mama's little chauvinists
All I want is the truth, just give me some truth
I've had enough of watching scenes from
Schizophrenic, egocentric, paranoiac prima-donnas
All I want is the truth, now-now
Just give me some truth
No short-haired, yellow-bellied
Son of Tricky Dicky's
Gonna Mother Hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocket full of soap
It's money for dope
Money for rope
Ah, I'm sick to death of hearing things from
Uptight, short-sighted, narrow minded hypocrites
All I want is the truth, now
Just give me some truth, now
I've had enough of reading things
By neurotic, psychotic, pigheaded politicians
All I want is the truth, now
Just give me some truth, now
All I want is the truth, now
Just give me some truth, now
All I want is the truth
Just give me some truth
All I want is the truth
Just give me some truth

AI is not our friend. Manipulating photos is nothing new, but AI has brought deceit to a new level. It's faster, and it's more convincing. Unfortunately, we've gotten to the point where we can't believe what we see or hear. Since I don't subscribe to NewScientist, I can't read the entire article, but you get the idea. If we can believe what we see and hear, we are going in a bad direction.
Deepfakes are out of control – is it too late to stop them?
AI-manipulated audio clips, images and videos have been used to harass people, scam money and influence elections, despite efforts to rein them in.

Academic research is increasingly anthropomorphising technology – a trend that could mislead the public about how powerful artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge developments really are.
Myra Cheng and her colleagues at Stanford University, California, analysed the content of more than 655,000 academic publications released between May 2007 and September 2023, along with the headlines of approximately 14,000 news articles citing some of those papers. They rated the extent to which each text used human pronouns such as “he” and “she” rather than “it”, as well…

You might want to correct your posting. You said if we can believe... however, I think you meant to say cannot believe.
Seems like it would be easy enough to require anything generated by AI to have a disclaimer stating so. Make it a felony for leaving it off so the potential for severe penalty is real. We all would at least be able to judge for ourselves the validity of the creation.

What is a severe venality?
Burning them to death slowly with a torch?
Right now it's illegal to kill someone. Has that stopped the killing of people.
I could make a list longer then a basketball players arm of crimes that people commit everyday.
No severe penalty even slows them down.
The co-creator of AI said he's afraid of what AI has unleased upon society.
I don't think anyone has any idea how to put the Jeanie back in the bottle.
Just been reading "The American Prometheus", Oppenheimer's biography. The same discussion then about the science of nuclear technology as these discussions about AI. How do you get every country to agree on control of this technology?

The most uncommon thing lately..... common sense......

Oh, great. The idea of ANOTHER unenforceable law.
An attempt to CONTROL behavior / outcomes of technology released into common usage.
Like many innovations, once “out of the bottle” (so to speak), it is almost impossible to contain or control the ramifications of technologies.

NO, that's called "trying to look the best you can instead of going out looking less than the best."
A woman told me (in front of my husband), "I'm so glad I don't have to wear make-up. I look just as good without it."
He replied "Every old barn looks better with a fresh coat of paint." Not saying what I think she might have done but she looked a lot better after that.
