Kudos To Olympus (OM System) Customer Service

I have read so many negative comments, here and elsewhere, about the customer service of most camera companies that I thought I would post something positive for a change. In early January, I purchased a reconditioned 75 mm f1.8 M.Zuiko lens directly from OM System. I have read so many great reviews of this lens and it was hard to pass it up at the price they were offering. I noticed fairly early on that I was getting overexposed images on the manual and aperture priority modes whenever I set the lens to any aperture smaller than about f8. This suggested that the lens was not stopping down properly. I called and got the instructions for returning the lens for warranty repair and shipped it back to them in the original packaging, which fortunately I had kept. I asked the rep for her best estimate of the turn around time. Her response was one to two weeks. I got it back within two weeks of the date they received it, which included shipping time from New Jersey to New Mexico. The aperture mechanism was replaced and lens firmware updated. It appears to work perfectly now. I have had some apprehension about to change from Olympus to OM System but if this is any indication, my concerns are not justified. Does anyone else have something positive to say about a camera company's customer service that met or exceeded expectations?

Glad to see that you got the lens back in a timely manner. I'm surprised OMS sent the lens out in the condition you got it in. Unless the damage occurred during shipping, it looks like OMS did a poor job on quality control.

About 10 years ago I had a Canon lens issue while on a trip. We had another trip scheduled about a month later. I contacted Canon USA and sent the lens in to be repaired. Within two weeks I received a refurbished lens as a replacement. My lens was well out of warranty and for a modest cost Canon got me the lens I needed for my trip.

I've had similar service from Oly/OMD. So far so good. As a dedicated Oly/OMD user, I hope the company remains viable.

This is also about OM/Olympus. I had bought a used 40-150 Olympus lens. Turns out its clever lens hood would sometimes fall apart or fall off when in use. I asked an OM rep if I should order 1 or 2 replacement lens hoods as I was headed to Africa and didn’t want to have any issues. His response was to send me a free replacement which worked perfectly.

When it was Olympus their service was excellent. I never needed repairs but whenever I had doubts or a question to ask I received an answer in a timely manner. Most recently I bought a refurb EM-5 Mk III, no complaints, the little camera works to perfection and it is loaded with new to me technologies that I can use in my photography. I can see that the new company that has kept the Olympus lens division with ALL of its employees is offering excellent service to their customers.

I have used Nikon cameras and lenses for more than 40 years and most recently I have been using Olympus cameras to my entire satisfaction. I would say the future looks bright for OM Digital Solutions.

I'm both an Olympus/ON system user and Nikon (both DSLR & Mirrorless), had a 500C & Leica loooong time ago.

The support from Olympus and Hasselblad are (and were) superlative. Leica tries hard. Hasselblad which was local to me, swapped on the spot a Zeiss lens due to a Compur issue... not a refurb, but a brand new lens. Bronica was also excellent. Loved the Bronica!

Concerning the other, if you have nothing nice to say...
