Is there something wrong with Windows 11, I am using it and been running fine. Just asking.

I've resisted switching to it because there seem to be no advantages, but several disadvantages (which I don't recall).

I wonder why they couldn't keep the "Windows 10" name as they made changes. Wasn't that the idea when Win10 was introduced?

They might put in some improvements, some may not be obvious.

Is a "difference in user interface" a disadvantage?

That was the idea. I have a theory. I thought that Microsoft when they offered free upgrade to Windows 10 they intended to get everyone on Windows 10 and then upgrading it gradually without changing its name. I think they intended to switch it over the subscription model so that you have to subscribe to get the update.
However, Windows 11 I think was an idea to sell hardware. If you want Windows 11 many people will have to buy new hardware. So I think the hardware manufacturers paid Microsoft to do that.

Manufacturers who build device interfaces with hooks to the operating system are nasty. I know it's easier than building their own code to support a function, but being OS dependent STINKS. If the OS changes (hooks no longer valid), the device probably will no longer work (correctly).
I always built self-sufficient code, NEVER depending on hooks to the OS for that reason.
So much for the "easy" way out....

As you can see, when Microsoft released Windows 10 even 10 year old computer can run on it. Now Windows 11 won't run on computers that was 3 year old when it was released.

To some people, yes. Is it change for the sake of change?

It's CHANGE!

But resistance is futile. You WILL be assimilated.

My laptop has Win10 but my MacBook/Parallels has Win11. Have not seen any issues yet. But it doesn't get used a lot.

How many websites are (were) fine the way they are, but get changed so they look "new, and improved"?
The originators believe things are "improvements".
Some are, some are not, but yes, different.
Nothing is as inevitable as change.

Perhaps, just perhaps, Microsoft calls it "Windows" so they can look inside your computer.

It seems that Microsoft is now forcing users to accept the latest version of Windows.

However, you can avoid this forced update by pausing Windows 11 updates. Doing so will also prevent you from getting security updates and improvements. - https://www.minitool.com/news/users-are-forced-to-install-windows-11-updates.html

We've upgraded two laptops and a desktop PC to Win 11. After resolving the problems with Win 11's start menu using START11 and relocating the taskbar to the right side of the screen using ExplorerPatcher we're quite happy with Win 11. We're essentially back to Win 10's excellent user interface.

MS runs a PC check to see if your machine can actually accomodate Win11. When I ran the analyzer it discovered my Bios setting was not set to accomodate the new software upgrade. I made the bios setting change and Win11 downloaded nicely. That was on my newer IBuyPower PC. My 12 year old Dell XPS (which still runs like a champ) could not successfully download Win11 as the bios is not compliant.

What I did discover is MS now downloads an AI app directly into Win11. This I am NOT fond of. As was previously stated, Resistance is Futile (for you useless eaters).

Can you be more specific about the AI app? What does it do? Is it removable?

What were the "problems"?
Or was it some things you simply didn't care for.
(Not "software problems"....)
