Navigate the new format

I love the new digest format. I love having all my buddy's posts at the top. Then I love the filtering. Some days I may want to see just posts in a particular forum. Other days I may want to see posts in all forums I am subscribed to. Even then it's nice to have them grouped by subject. Like many people I didn't like it at first but after giving it a fair trial I came to like it. Good job, admins.

I agree, especially with your second comment.

Nikon 123,
I agree. The old format at least gave you all of the current contributions in one place including used equipment for sale. Now it feels like you have to visit the entire spectrum of interests to see what is recent. The topics included
before were quite enough and any more you could always look for under 'all sections.'
I view this as a failed attempt at something new. I also don't feel as inclined to 'check in' as often as before.

Have you tried going to the Forum (rather than the Digest) where you can look at a list of all "Newest Topics" in the Sections you are subscribed to? If not, you ought to give it a try.

The newest is higher on the page.
Never noticed any new format.

Yes. Hard to get 20 pages for UV filters now.

I think some Hoggers protestest too much. I, too, initially did not enjoy the "new" format. However, once they changed it so the first thing that pops up is the "filter by section" option, I just use that and read those sections I have subscribed to. No longer an issue. Works fine. It is my opinion that the "leaders" are doing a good job. I don't know but I think most of them are unpaid volunteers.

I also liked the previous format better. It seemed I could get to where I wanted to go faster. I probably do access the site less frequently. But designing a format around me is a mistake-as long as most users think it’s an improvement then that’s good.

Just looking at the headline, "Navigate the new format." How far we've come from "Navigate the New World!!"

I note that there appear to be two kinds of UHHers: Those who use the digest and those who sign in directly. The digest users appear not to be aware that there is another way to look at UHH.

The digest appears to be a selection of topics from the day before (or earlier -- I don't use the digest so I'm not that familiar with it, but it doesn't include everything. It selects things to present to you {as a digest will do}).

Signing in directly will present you with a list of the sections you are subscribed to. Clicking on a section presents you with ALL the topics currently active, listed chronologically by last response.

Using the digest you will miss topics. Signing in directly you will not miss anything. To sign in directly, just enter https://uglyhedgehog.com into your browser URL window and press enter. Or you can bookmark it and just click on the bookmark.

Try it. Maybe you'll like it.

The Digest users also may not be aware of what a digest is. Here is a link to the definition.
