These are beautiful. Trying to pick a favorite is pretty hard! I don't ever leave the lens on when I send the camera to be cleaned, so all I have to worry about are the camera settings (which are numerous!). Last time I made them promise to not change anything. They still did! I'm sorry the trees now block your beautiful views. At least they're not high-rise apartment buildings!

Spectacular sunset Joe!

A few years ago I traveled down the Jersey shore to take some shots of the Judge's Shack which is one of the few remaining fishing shanties on the East Coast. The used 28mm Nikkor lens I had purchased stopped auto focusing even though it had worked fine at the start. I was able to salvage a few of the images that weren't too far off using Topaz Sharpen, but the rest were hopeless.

Beautifully done, Joe. Love the views over the neighborhood and the soft focus pair at the end.

Thank you Joe for your kind words - I wondered how that super-soft focus pair would be received!

Well done, you stayed with it and got all of it.

Thank you, Jim, for looking in and your kind comment. Yes, both for sunrises and sunsets, I like to stay with the developing scenes and often find the "after-glow" effects to be just as effective as the main event - particularly of course for the sunsets.

Thank you very much, Kathy. The trees are actually kind of pretty with their filigrane branch network in the winter, they just bother me in the summer when Mt Baker and most of the mountain chain almost totally disappear. - I never thought of taking the lens off my camera when bringing it in for cleaning and actually cannot quite understand why they have to change the settings when cleaning the sensor.

Thanks Bill for your kind words of appreciation! Yes, focus inaccuracies are one of the things we cannot fix in post - at least not yet - but there is always hope for the future!

Thanks Dave - I never thought of it that way, but there is a certain resemblance, maybe I should call them my "Eastern Lights", after all I caught them looking east!
