Am I alone in my distaste of the new format? I have ceased my daily read of the topics because I can’t quickly discern what is recent and what is not.
New format for The Digest?........
(I never use it.)

I have never tasted the old digest so I wouldn't know.
I agree and it seems like participation has dropped since the new format was introduced.

I don't see that. In fact soon after the new diggest was introduced there were a whole lot of posts made from people who rarely posted before. So I think it increased the number of post for some time.

Go directly to newest topics and you'll see everything. If you select Watch or comment on a topic, you'll get notification in watched topics. If you use the (=>) at the heading, it will take you to where you last left the thread.
Admin tweaked the "new" digest format to asssist those resistant to change

We control our content by subscribing or unsubscribing to the 50+ sections that currently comprise UHH. "Old" and "New" are easily discerned, as TripleG explained.

What do you mean by participation? Do you mean use of the digest? The forum doesn’t seem any different to me. Maybe people are leaving the digest for the forum.
Main photography discussion as well as general chit chat used to have far more postings than it does now. Even the specialty categories like Landscape, Black and White, etc. participation has decreased. My observation is based on the forum, not the former daily digest. I still think the timing of the drop in participation coincides with the change in format, although it may be a coincidence rather than a cause/effect. I have no trouble navigating the forum. I just miss the daily digest. Nothing more than that.

I haven’t noticed that, but over the past few years some active members have passed on and some have dropped out for various reasons.
Nikon 123,
I agree. The old format at least gave you all of the current contributions in one place including used equipment for sale. Now it feels like you have to visit the entire spectrum of interests to see what is recent. The topics included
before were quite enough and any more you could always look for under 'all sections.'
I view this as a failed attempt at something new. I also don't feel as inclined to 'check in' as often as before.

I like it. I go straight to the filter page and CC select the category I want without scrolling through a bunch of stuff I don’t care about. I also like that the filter page shows how many new posts in each category.
