I gave up on my Apple wireless and switched to a Logitech wireless.

Absolutely, I did too and am currently using the Logitech M185. Never had good luck with my Apple wireless mice.... had several go bad rather quickly. OTOH my Logitech seem to always last forever. Long battery life and reasonably priced. Love them.

I had the same problem and did all kind of things with the mouse. Wound up I wore out my favorite mouse pad. Got a new one with my grandkids pic on it and now all the mice that were jumping around work perfectly fine. Never thought of a pad wearing out.

I ordered a new cordless mouse so I would have one less wire to deal with. Thinking it would be better because it had a higher model number and a higher price, I ordered the Logitech M705. I'm not thrilled with this. In standard form, the wheel spins freely, which means the cursor or page moves more than I want it to when I use the wheel. I discovered that pushing on the top button adds clicks to the wheel, but they are so faint that I wasn't sure they were there. I think I'm going to return this and get an M505, which I've used before.

If any of you use the M705, I be glad to hear your opinions.

Have you tried adjusting the mouse sensitivity on your computer? On PCs, it's available via the control panel. I don't know about MACs but I'm guessing there is something similar.

I have the Logitech MixMaster 3. It is expensive but it's the best wireless mouse on the market. It is rechargeable and packed with extra features. I use it a lot and only need to recharge it every 90 days..

I have the M720 and it works fine on a MacPro 14 inch, 2021. I used it with the button that clicks instead of free-wheeling and have had no problems.

I use this one. Don't have to worry about batteries and can still use it while charging if needed.
"Logitech MX Anywhere 3S Compact Wireless Mouse, Fast Scrolling, 8K DPI Tracking, Quiet Clicks, USB C, for charging."

I use a Logitec performance MX Cordless and love it. You can set all the functions like you want.
Been using it so much that I have even bought a back up.

I have a 525 I’ve been using for about 5 years. No issues.

FYI: The MX Master 3 is a Logitech, but it's the top of the line & IMHO well worth checking out.

Whenever I want a mouse I buy a gaming one for the fact that they can configure to your heart content, are sturdier, resist a lot of use and abuse and you can click, and click, and click without damage for years. They're more expensive though.

I love the M705, have had one for a long time, very used to it. I even bought a second one for my work laptop.

It is perhaps a bit heavier than I'd like, but it's not bad at all.

Just my $0.02

Also had my eye on the Logitech MX Anywhere 3S, might be lighter, but haven't gone to a store to check it out.

The MX series will even track on glass. 4-8,000 dpi. Very smooth and ideal for editing.

I have an M705 that had the erratic behavior you're describing. After a month and a half of attempts t get a replace it started to function as it should and the performance has improved with time. Never was able to reach a satisfactory conclusion with Logitech customer service however

I don't like the feel of the wheel, even though that does rhyme. It's either perfectly smooth, or it has barely perceptible clicks. It's going back.
