I have used Lightroom for many years, it is software that is an integral part of my toolkit. LRC in the Creative Cloud provides me the tools to enhance images [critical because at times I have no idea of the lighting on a location].

The Davenport Projex is a provider of official photography services for events at St. Joseph A.M.E. Church in Durham, North Carolina. My wife and I are most appreciative of the national perspective coming from St. Joseph. The Pastor [and my fraternity brother] Bro. Dr. Jonathan Augustine, is also the National Chaplin for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

Last week during Black History Month [their HBCU Sunday] - brought the 28th National President and CEO of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Elsie Cooke-Holmes, to St. Joseph and Durham.

Equipment:
Hasselblad X2D / Hasselblad 45mm F4
Sony a9 / Sony-Zeiss 16-35mm F4

Any other event photographers using the AI Denoise tool in Lightroom?

I have used Topaz DeNoise AI for several years, and rely on it in my workflow, especially for choral choir concerts in poorly lit concert halls/churches.

When Adobe added AI Denoise to LRC I tried it, found it's results similar to Topaz, but the amount of time required to process images in LRC were greater than 5 minutes/image.

Topaz processing times are about a minute/image, so I have gone back to Topaz at least until I upgrade to a higher-powered GPU/CPU processor.

I am aware of Topaz, have the plug-in app on my devices - choose never to use it. Found the incorporation of AI enhancement using Lightroom Classic in the CC was more effective for my workflow. However, I too experienced the immediate need for an upgrade after post-processing my first series of over 150 event images [at over 200MB an image] on my existing iMac and MacBook Pro. So, I purchased a 2023 [Space Black] 16-inch MacBook Pro [with a M3 Max chip, 16‑core CPU, 40‑core GPU, 16‑core Neural Engine, 48GB unified memory and 1TB SSD. And I added a Macintosh Studio Display, for consistent color calibration in both screens as I process images.

This new MacBook Pro M3 Max setup is screaming fast [what took 7-9 minutes per image AI processing with my older MacBook Pro and the 24-inch iMac - now takes 30 seconds - see last image].

These are some wonderful images. They are also important historical records, or will be.
