So many different schools and places. My favorite times were living with my grand parents in the Santa Clara Valley before it became Silicon Valley. A small rural school with combined grade levels. Four rooms, 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 5th and 6th. Seventh grade had a room to its self to prepare us for the big time--High School. Because ranches were widely separated we usually played alone after school or if we were lucky with one other close enough to ride our bikes to see. We had BB guns, sling shots, played marbles for keeps, fell off roofs and out of trees, rode bikes without helmets and generally did all the dangerous things kids did at that time. Some of us even lived through all those dangerous activities, advanced to our teen years, went to college, joined the military or just went to work. A few of us even became productive citizens
So many different schools and places. My favorite ... (show quote)

Strange how your mind edits what you remember... In the late 40s and early50s I was doing the same kind of things that others of you were and remember them fondly. But buried in there, if I dig it out, are the memories of being dirt poor, not having enough to eat, and wondering why 'Dad' wasn't coming home anymore. Fast forward 30 years: college degree, fast cars, Harleys, travel, good job, great wife, etc. Present day: pretty much like the last 40 years. Life is good!!

I see, you are one of BAYBY BOOMER generation. There are 7-8 times more people born in the decade 1946 to 1955. In comparison of previous world depression and WW-2, 1936 to 1945. Also, it is amusing to see Photography
imaging revolution in 1996 to 2005, but how many baby pictures could survive for these digital babies, when they turned to 70+ years old. The decade of 2066 to 2085?
