Stepped into the attic to check it out. WOW !

Yeah, but I prefer to quote the originator, who wrote it in 1812.

Not all active Attic participants are male, so your thanks is clouded.
Self-righteousness is typically quite amusing and imminently qualifies many to be Attic respondents.
Many are still sleeping and can not identify the enemy . “We have met the enemy..." Oliver Perry.
What are you talking about ?
My thanks IS not clouded.
I used Linda's reply because it was short and I knew it would not generate a lot of crap replies. At least I hoped it would not.
I respect her very much.
I know there are women in there and that was not even in my mind.
Why don't you go back and read the original words.
I simply made a comment on the attic after poking my head in there briefly. Period !
If I know the post would spiral out of control and get all kinds of stupid and political comments, I never would have done it. Lesson learned on me.
That was not at all my point. Deal with Dave.

The original is nice. The note by Perry was:
”We have met the enemy and they are ours. Two ships, two brigs, one schooner and one sloop.” https://www.nps.gov/articles/met-the-enemy-4.htmKelly’s version seems very appropriate for the divisive society of present times.

My, oh my, lol! Why don't you go back and read my original words and subsequent posts. I simply made a subtle point that she wrongly stated that it was "boys at play" when in fact some of the players are non-males. If you feel that things are spiraling out of control and you find my post unsettling, I don't know what to recommend that you do.

Whatever makes you feel better.

I was just heading out and saw the reply on my email. I will do that later today when I return. Honestly Dave, I do not recall or even know if I read them all. I was just so surprised at the replies. If I came across weird, I apologize.
I just wish I had never posted this thing in first place.
Peace out bro,
b

Yes, I'm quite familiar with the events, but thanks for the link, and that's why offered Oliver's quote.

I was not that familiar with the quote by Perry. I did know of the British defeat.
Thanks for the reference.

Hey, we're just goofing a bit and nothing on the Hogg is worth too much serious thought! Keep smiling!

Been a fun day! Got to go watch the birds playing and getting used to a new Bluebird feeder that requires them to enter into a chamber through a small hole that prevents larger birds from entering.

Yupper bro, that's my take on it too and that's all I was doing initially, just having fun. But whooooooooo lookie what happens here huh.
Some folks get too serious and off to the attic we go.

The Attic is hardly serious, but occasionally some desire a Mensa Meeting and that's usually good for a laugh.

I was a Mensa member back in the mid 1970's but since screwing around in UHH and just living in this world since then, I am now still mentally aware but feel like an alien on my own planet.
