Unfortunately most of the Gun nuts can't think on their own, if you notice its all repeats of what the NRA or Fox news say. No one is taking guns away, but speaking about assault weapons, but its always steered towards the 2nd amendment. Fact we have 5% of the worlds population and 50% of the guns. Fact, a household with a gun is 12 times more likely to have a homicide. Fact only 1 in 20 shootings is for self defense, most are suicide or homicide! Fact, we have 89 guns per 100 capita, no one comes close but Yemen, 55 guns per 100 capita. Too bad the Gun nuts hate facts. I travel quite a bit and had to explain to your countrymen that no, Sarah Palin was not a joke and a lot of folks took her serious much to their dismay. Its hard living with a bunch of folks who think Fox news is God and the NRA is Jesus! We have a lot of sane people here, they are just not as vocal! Have a Merry Xmas!!

As you know little about me,let me explain.Guns are not new to me.I have had and shot them since I was 14 or so....and that has been some 45 yrs. My Dad drummed gun safety into my head at a very young age.I could not even touch them if he wasn't present.I have hunted all kinds of small animals.Never once have I had an accident,or even a close call.
So when you say gun control to me,I interpret that to mean hitting your target.And I'm pretty good at that,so I guess you could say I have learned gun control.

Ditto - the main part of "gun control" is knowing when to pick up the gun and/or shoot it - and when not to, which is nearly all the time...

I agree,if you're talking about self defense.But,if you are going to carry a gun,I recommend range time at least once a week...no more than 2.

That my friend is just why we had to come and bail you out when Hitler was trying to take you over. You couldnt defend your selves. That wouldn't happen in america. To us gun control is being able to hit what your aiming at. Cheers.

Hey viscount, the real coincidence is that in the UK niether the police nor the citizens have guns....yet you have the highest violent crime rate in the world, hows that for coincidence?? Thanks, but I will keep my " right to bear arms" Godbless America

I almost forgot one big reason people carry AK's and the like - intimidation!

In our neighborhood, I've twice run into pot farm guards out in the wilderness, and they were carrying AK's mostly to intimidate anybody they ran into out there. And it worked really well! On neither occasion were they about to draw on me, nor did I feel "threatened" as long as I acted rationally and respectfully. But although I was packing at the time, I knew that didn't matter at all, and got out of there right now!

...and before anybody suggests reporting such sightings to the authorities, keep in mind that those guys bring an awful lot of dough into our local economy - and I'm just fine with that, too.

If you really think we won the war by bailing "them" out .... you should read Inferno: The World War 1939-1945 by Max Hasting .... the British soldier fought a good fight and without them and the Russian soldier .... we would be speaking German .... yes we supplied the material ... but they were damn good soldiers....
