I took the slides off the shelf that hadn't been looked at in 55 years to make digital copies. I'm not sure if I set a timer or had someone take this shot of me while in Vietnam. I only had a built in camera flash back then.
I almost don't recognize myself. I was about 120 lbs lighter then. See the picture of my wife, girlfriend at the time, on the locker door? A couple of other notable things in the picture is the pack of cigarettes in my left shirt pocket. Just about everyone smoked back then, I quit after my first son was born. On my left-hand pinky finger is my girlfriend's ring, later lost while swimming in the South China Sea, not cool.
I'll keep going through the slides. Might find some suitable for My Image Your Editing. Some should be very challenging.
You looked pretty sharp, PFC Hill!
Good that you made it back and good that you're still married after all this time. You must have some vivid memories of that experience.
We were soldiers once, and young
First congratulations on being together for all this time. The years did speed by, at least for me they did. Now every morning when I look in the mirror I ask who is that old SOB looking back at me.
Those slides is your link to your past. I bet if you look at some they will trigger some memories. Both good and bad.
For several years, the first part of my avatar signature speaks to such things...nothing like a little reflection.

Thank you, I gained a rank before I got out.

Thank you. I have a few memories, not so vivid anymore.

A lot more soldiers back then. I think the draft forced young men to grow up.

It's hard for me to remember myself looking like that. My grandson looks a lot like me back then. He's 20 now and even he thinks he looks like me then. I told him he can look forward to looking like me now, when he is my age, he just shook his head.
