I think all the back and forth about the average, mean, median and mode should be sent to a special room for all those discussions that cause the MEGO effect. My Eyes Glaze Over. (or I could follow my own advice and ignore it"

The Admin of the UHH forum (whomever they may be) decides what can be evocative enough to send (or drag) the thread and/or the author to the attic. This is because this forum should be friendly enough for all to enjoy. Many times the anonymity of the internet allows people to become crude and rude. I prefer enjoying my bus ride to work or my lunch hour to read something amusing or enlightening. I do not want to exchange a lengthy diatribe. I do find certain posters well worthy of remaining on a buddy list.

However, I would like to gain some insight as to whom our Admin actually is. Perhaps it is one of our regular posters. I just wish I could give him or her a heartfelt “Thank You!”

Sincerely, Steven “Scruples” Gewirtz

The Admin of the UHH forum (whomever they may be) ... (show quote)

Yea Steven, I agree, I do not want to waste my time arguing that goes nowhere. A debate that I can learn something is good for me. When I made this post I had no idea it would spin out like this or I would not have gone it. I was just sharing an quick and very brief observation.
I read this past year from a member here the admin(s) are actually a woman or two women, I do not know.
The admin(s) also host another forum forum for political topics, it looks like UHH in design. I am not interested in it myself but from the stuff I see om this thread, some folks should be there.
Happy Friday bro.
Bruce.

Thank you for your agreement.
I experienced The Attic once when I choose to explain a point. I learned very quickly about the Attic. I even gave my rendition and observation of the Attic a few pages back. In actuality I choose not to argue religion or politics. I prefer to keep my opinions to myself and most certainly remain a cranky old coot!

Hahahhaha, well, you cranky old coot I like you that way and have always respected your replies all over this forum.
Yea, arguing resolves nothing especially on UHH. IF someone wants to have a curious debate or conversation then it needs and should go off the main forum. I used to fire back at smart remarks and stuff but now I do not waste my time, I just ignore them. Man oh man, 11 pages now !!!! woohoo are we having fun yet ?

We should never forget that many wars have been fought over differences in the beliefs of religion and politics. Imagine how peaceful the world would be if the opinions of both were kept strictly to oneself.

Because its probably not the beliefs as much as the agendas that drive those beliefs that are fought over.

Actually though isn't diversity a good thing ? "No Opinion " is kind of dull... Yes, sometimes folks are very passionate in their beliefs and maybe rightfully so a lot of times... At least we don't yet have secret " safe rooms " where we can all communicate safely and privately.

A different opinion is fine, it's when someone doesn't agree with that opinion and only thinks theirs is correct is when feathers get ruffled.

Like "Why on earth do you save JPEGs? There's no need to, just wastes space.".

....Because I want to.

Yes, while we slept, the enemy came in.
Thank you Linda for the reply.

Not all active Attic participants are male, so your thanks is clouded.

Self-righteousness is typically quite amusing and imminently qualifies many to be Attic respondents.

Many are still sleeping and can not identify the enemy . “We have met the enemy..." Oliver Perry.

Freedom of Speech and of the Press: The First Amendment allows citizens to express and to be exposed to a wide range of opinions and views. It was intended to ensure a free exchange of ideas even if the ideas are unpopular.
