Stopped by a local small park, it has a lake and an island and usually there are quite a few birds there...but gulls and geese dominate. This day, however, Ibises were there in force! The last one shows a snowy egret getting a bit miffed at the invasion...

Nice set of Glossy Ibis. The Smowy Egret obviously doesn't agree. Well done

Great series, the last one looks like a territorial dispute.

I'm amazed at all the nuances of colour found in the first one.

Excellent. The Ibis have red eyes which distinguishes them as White Ibis as compared to Glossy Ibis which are very similar.

It's the way the sunlight hits...their feathers (at least the outside ones) are iridescent!

Beautiful set. They are White-faced Ibis. Glossy Ibis are quite similar while White Ibis, as the name implies are white

Indeed, my app says "White-faced Ibis" (with a sub-heading of "White-faced Glossy Ibis). There's so little white in the face it's puzzling! Indeed, though, there is a distinction between the white-faced and glossy, so thanks for keeping things straight.
