The world outside was frozen solid. The town was without power. Stores and shops were closed. Thousands of tea kettles refused to boil. Many cars were in the ditch. But Nature looked more beautiful than ever. . . .

It's pretty as long as I don't have to deal with it!

You said it, Joe! THANKS.
Snowy landscapes like that do make me feel like being on cloud nine. We had hardly any snow this year, at least so far. If we do get a decent snowfall I'll be out there to get some more shots. Here is one more from the past. It was taken in an area less than 10 minutes away from where I live.

Nice again, Kip. I am in the same predicament here: We only had one snowfall (and that's really all I need on my driveway), but I would love to see another dump just at a slightly higher altitude so that I can get out there and shoot the snow landscapes and details that I am craving for!

Pretty. While snow can be inconvenient to say the least, it really is a miraculous thing.

Several years back we had an ice storm that left power poles down and some people without power for over a week. It was super quiet when every so often Iā€™d hear what sounded like a deer rifle going off. It was very large tree limbs breaking off from the weight of the ice.
