My thoughts, as well.
I adored the 1955-1957 Chevrolets, Ford, and Chrysler vehicles.
When the 1958 Chevrolet came out, it was a disappointment from
the gorgeous 1957's!

My pic is from 1969/1970. The 58 chevy in the background was the car my dad bought repo'd from the bank. He paid $200 for a mothers day gift. I am in the blue coat and it became my first car when I turned 16. If you go 70 on a dirt road you can get them on two wheels.
Who would have thought that that cute little kid would one day be terrorizing chickens and livestock in a classic car
The ‘58 Impala convertible has always just screamed “ROAD TRIP!” to me.😎

Amen. Just ugly enough to attract. Shame it was such an engineering POS. I had a 58 Pontiac nearly as ugly. It was in the same boat as to engineering.

Nice shot! I had a buddy who had the 3 deuces version of the 348 which required constant tinkering to keep it running. I went to pick him up more than once in my '55 wagon when it left him sitting. I told him that when I floored the accelerator in my little 265 it wouldn't break your neck... but it would get you where you wanted to go. He didn't particularly care for my commentary, but he was kind of stuck with it.

The 58 model had some big shoes to fill….
Beautiful car. They don't make them like that anymore...K.A.N.
Very nice. We had a 1958 Chevy Impala with red interior, a continental tire on the back and it was a convertible.
