I just sent my 22 y/o granddaughter my Canon 7D MK ii and 100-400 is ii lens. She has only used a cell phone for photos before. I sent the camera set up for wildlife photography. I need recommendations for a good source of learning about DSLR camera basics. She is a smart gal (and like most young folks nowadays) has a great background in computer software. Thanks for sharing great resources. I have a Tamron APSC 11-16mm lens I will also send her as she is interested in night photography also.

Creative Live's John Greengo's course on Fundamentals of Photography. It is an intensive dive into the basics, including both technical and artistic aspects. John is a great presenter with superb, clear visuals. https://www.creativelive.com/class/fundamentals-of-photography-john-greengo

John Greengo (mentioned in my response above) also offers a "Fast Start" class on the specifics of the Canon 7D Mark II that presents a very thorough look at the functions of that particular model of camera: https://www.creativelive.com/class/fast-start-canon-7d-mark-ii-john-greengo

If she has the time the best source is the Photographic Society of America. The digital membership, with digital magazine is only $45 per year. membership with printed and delivered magazine subscription is $65 per year.

They have many free on-courses with one-on-one instructor. Many clubs across the country and world are affiliated with PSA. Their website is https://psa-photo.org/ If you go to their website you can click on Education. There is a course entitled: "Digital Photography Course".

My book is still on Amazon, "How To Use The Digital Camera You Just Bought."
Of course she may prefer looking at YouTube videos versus a comprehensive book based on 10 years of teaching beginners.
[sigh]
