I own 2 Z9 bodies, both purchased from B&H, 14 months apart from each other, both have been updated with the latest firmware (4.10). My goal is to match each body with the same display, one of the Z9’s when powered up offers a “live” view of the scene (I prefer this display setting). The other Z9 display when powered up, the preferred setting is not an option or available, I’m unable to locate that setting. Menu to menu, the settings are identical on each body. Any ideas for locating my preferred display setting are welcome.
D9 in the custom settings menu.
Toggle the DISP button to see if this fixes the issue. I assume you've saved the settings from the good one and loaded those settings in the other one since you mentioned that the settings are identical.

Go to the custom settings menu and you will find that there they do not match.
No luck, went to Custom settings menu and both bodies have matched settings, when I toggle through the display settings, I have just one option to select from (display #5), whereas the other body I’m able to toggle through and select up to 5 different display settings. The body that is only allowing one option to display does allow me 5 options when I switch to video mode. Very strange.
Save the settings from the camera that works find and load them into the other one. Otherwise, a camera reset is another option.
