I just sent my 22 y/o granddaughter my Canon 7D MK ii and 100-400 is ii lens. She has only used a cell phone for photos before. I sent the camera set up for wildlife photography. I need recommendations for a good source of learning about DSLR camera basics. She is a smart gal (and like most young folks nowadays) has a great background in computer software. Thanks for sharing great resources. I have a Tamron APSC 11-16mm lens I will also send her as she is interested in night photography also.

Creative Live's John Greengo's course on Fundamentals of Photography. It is an intensive dive into the basics, including both technical and artistic aspects. John is a great presenter with superb, clear visuals.

from your library, Great Courses Photography ( on dvd) Joel will teach her everything she needs. I had heard its now available on line too, so check that out.
My book is still on Amazon, "How To Use The Digital Camera You Just Bought."
Of course she may prefer looking at YouTube videos versus a comprehensive book based on 10 years of teaching beginners.
