I just went back to enjoy your painting again. Is that a "J" for Jo connecting the bridle and the reins?
No, just the curved bit shanks. We ride with the lightest touch of the bit...the reins just tight enough to feel the mouth bump very lightly as the horse nods his head. I loved riding my favorite horse with no bridle or halter at all.
thing I have painted for myself in a very long time. Now that I have retired ...almost ...maybe from doing commission work, I had a blast painting just what I wanted to instead of something to sell. Oh what fun!!!!

Beautiful, Jo. I love the expression on his/her face, and the way the mane is waving out from the neck. It looks as if it's ready to jump out off the canvas. You are a true artist.
