AP now uses Sony exclusively
Like I asked originally several pages ago: "Who cares?". This is just herd mentality stampeding around in circles.
If AP were to switch to Cracker Jack boxes and camera obscura, so what? I think I will just worry about the really important things in life----like, why don't the ends of my tie come out even when I tie a Windsor knot.
Is Sony paying people to do this? These sales pitches are so obnoxious.
"Market share is everything?"

Sony is paying for advertising thru product placements, endorsements, freebies, business alliances, promotions etc to get the product name to be associated with its superior performance.
Eventually the name gains some recognition and then people like an insecure poster will hop on the bandwagon and endorse it in order to boost their own personal self-esteem by being associated with this whizbang product. Soon other lemmings join the crusade as the herd mentality grows exponentially and many folks bask in their own self-importance by thinking they are worthy to share in the "sunshine".
A forum like this is an ideal place to gain phony self-recognition by self-identifying with a product, idea, philosophy etc.
It's marketing 101 and the dupes who have jumped on the bandwagon feel good about themselves. So, it is a win win for almost everyone----unless, of course, the product stinks, but sales soar while the buyers suffer the consequences.

One the EOS R1 debuts at the Paris Olympics, the UHH for-sale section will be filled with unwanted Sony and Nikon gear ...
Yeah, and wait for it…Apple’s newest iPhone 16 will then blow off the SLRs. Lol!
My goodness.... noses are getting all out of joint by being pushed too high in the air!!! Sony, Cannon, Nikon, even a Fuji or two and of course Pentax....And nobody claiming to use a speed Graflex... damn that's the best out there, especially the 4x5 model.
The best camera is the one you have in your hand to get the shot at hand.... It could be a Sony, a Canon or even a Kodak....

Even I know as a Nikon shooter it's Canon at the Super Bowl .

Of course they could be. That’s not even the top Sony. You would probably be just as blown away by a Nikon Z8 or Canon R5.
The EOS R5 changed how we think about mirrorless cameras, how we think about photography, how we think about life. The others, not so much.

Then it was topped by the Z8 & Z9
Who cares. The camera is just a tool.
