You're much too experienced and old (like me) to have this surprise (or bother) you.
99.9999% of the ads you see are 99.9999% BS
And don't forget the ever popular "Buy one.. get one free!"
Just pay separate service charge... which will probably be the same or more than price for first one

Why would I have to pay a separate service charge or separate shipping???
It's one order and just put them in the same box to ship!

I was really looking forward to getting a flashlight that could start a fire. What a conversation piece!

That's exactly the point. One way or another you're paying for two items.
I once took a change on "Free" items. The deal was that you would buy the item, pay shipping, and get a rebate for 100% of the cost of the item. I bought two things at two different times. One was a multi-bladed pocketknife. I forget what the other one was. In both cases, I got the purchase price back, and the shipping charge was reasonable. I wasn't going to press my luck beyond those two things.

When companies do that, I delete the order. I can understand if they add maybe $0.50 to the shipping charge. If it costs $5.00 to ship one item, it's not going to cost $10 to ship two of them.

I was going to order a few jars of jam/jelly from a well known manufacturer, The shipping was the same as the cost of the product, if not more.
I deleted the order.

Just adding "Tactical" to the description makes it worth at least triple in sales price!

That can be a problem with small, light items. It now costs $0.68 just to send a letter.

They were four jars of jelly, a few pounds.

Do you notice something in the first picture that only photographers would see and explain?
With the severe directional light coming from the flashlight combined with a huge aura of light in the surrounding vegetation, and a very distinct bright area at the bottom, looks like this might've been… Wait for it… Photo shopped?
