I finally got so bored sitting at home, holding my arm, that I simply went! My go-to place is the river, where sometimes I find wild horses. Today was 80 degrees, perfect blue sky and gorgeous, so I managed to get myself into the truck along with the R3.

No horses at the river, and no parking places at my favorite spot. But at a pull out I found a lovely cactus and a phainopepla. They were both quite a ways away, so I had to zoom all the way out. The bird is a black blob anyway, so getting a black blob didn't bother me. I thought the cactus looked nice.

Holding the R3 long enough to take these two pictures (from inside the truck) was about all I could do! It hurt, but it felt so good just to be there and to hold a camera again!

Your arm may be broken but your photographer spirit is just fine, Kathy. Love your cactus composition.

I would say Kathy that the subject is always important but most important is to be able to use our camera and lenses.
