Hi Steven,

Thank you for coming to visit us today. It's always a great pleasure to meet a fellow UHH member and I consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to show them around. I hope you found our time together informative and well spent. I certainly enjoyed showing you the effort and resources we expend to put the customer first and foremost and deliver a pleasant and stress free shopping experience be it in-store or online.

Thank you for all the kind compliments you pay us here on UHH and for your patronage. I look forward to seeing you here on UHH and to say "Hi" the next time you stop by the store.

All the best to you and yours.

HERSHEL
Hi Steven, br br Thank you for coming to visit us... (show quote)

Dear Mr. Waldner: You beat me to the post. I wanted to tell all the Ugly Hedge Hoggers what a wonderful experience I had with you. I have always loved going to my favorite store. I thought I knew everything there was to know. NOPE! I saw the other end of the store. This is the brains and the necessary parts to the southeast corner of West 34th Street. I never realized what is took to run this store. Now a great deal that was told to me today, I have been sworn not to repeat. I am truly amazed that this wonderful store is so well run. I saw parts of the operation that left me with one word coming from my mouth. “WOW!!!”
Today’s damage to my wallet was for a tripod apron, an Ultimate Lens Hood and two hot shoe levels. A grand total of $114. keeps the wife happy. Now I have purchased other items, that were more expensive. The only reason I could afford a Sigma 150-600mm Lens was because my wife came with me and would not let me spend more.

I think that all who go to B&H will be delightfully pleased. Since my wife did not come with me, she asked that I take a handful of candy from a dish.
P.S.: Even if you can’t come into New York City, the online services are very robust. Their delivery service is on the same level. I have never had a problem with the whole operation.
Thanks Again, Hershel.

Sincerely,
Steven “Scruples” Gewirtz

This seems to be a resurrected thread. No Matter! I’m sure many Hoggers have never heard of or visited B&H. But that is understandable. NY is a big city and so is this store. I recommend that people plan a vacation (1 week) and put together an itinerary. Include it on your list of things to see.

An unforgettable experience. The candy store of photography. The staff is very helpful. Make sure you check their hours before you go, because they close down for all Jewish holidays, sometimes for days at a time.

I was there several years ago. It's 2 stories. Very helpful employees. I was there for about 2 hours and wanted to stay longer. Plan on at least half a day.

Hi Steve,

The feeling is mutual. I hope this finds you and yours well. I had a great time showing you around the B&H Store and Backoffice facilities. As impressive as our store is you should see our warehousing facilities!

I hope you and your family had a nice holiday season and may the New Year bring to you and yours all the blessings of Health, Peace, Joy and Prosperity.

HERSHEL

I would like to visit B&H. Can someone tell me how you arranged it?

Thanks.

As people have mentioned, just check the hours and day to make sure their open and walk in. They’re located in a pretty interesting part of the city that can put your new purchase to work quickly covering the streets. For some reason my wife allows me to visit everytime I go to the city. I feel like a kid watching the rail system push the boxes around above you and just love looking at all the gear on display. I’ve also found the staff to be very knowledgeable and if it’s not too busy, they are generally happy to spend plenty of time with you. Great place!

I’ve never actually been to the store, but you’re all right about them having EVERYTHING. I’ve bought cameras, lenses, filters, computers, flash/speedlights, printers, and evening ink from them. And I’ve had many occasions to call them and ask for advice. I’m hoping to visit the store one of these days when in New York. Very nice post!

I had enough of all my tripods so I went in person to look and by a new tripod. Michael from tripods walked me around and showed me what the had. I did look at their web selection so I had a general idea of what I wanted.
I bought a carbon fiber tripod and a gamble head.michael was informative and non pushy. A few weeks later I went back and bought a second one so I didn't have to remove the gamble head.

It's a great store with knowledgeable employees. Years ago there were a number of such stores.
