Going to NC mountains for a week in March, will be driving so weight is not a factor but don't want to carry a lot of gear. One film camera either Nikon F3 or Ricoh XRP, both with winders or motor drives. Digital is a little harder decision, D200, 300, 300s with MB D10, D7000. Plan on Tamron 18-270 and 50mm 1.4 for Nikon and Pentax 50mm 1.4 and 28-100 and 70-210 Rikinon P lenses if I take the XRP, Have dedicated ttl flashes for all. Just thought of my N90s, that would be lighter than F3 and still use my Nikon lenses. Damn! I just may take it all including my F2 and macro set up. I may need some mental help and guidance. First vacation in 7 yrs.

Yes take it all. And use it all. Good counter argument to wifey arguing about clutter.

Why do you need so many digital cameras? The D200,D300, and DD300s are very old take the newest camera.

Don’t kill your shoulder or your back. I just came back from a three week vacation. I limited my gear down to one body (5D4) and 3 lenses (wide angle, short zoom, long zoom). Still heavy but manageable. If you want a film camera as well limit it to one with one short zoom.
I wanted to bring a tripod. Wife said no.

Just have a safe vacation!!!

D200 great skin tones, D300s Dual memory slots and mb-D10 grip, Newest is not always best!

Old is usually junk in consumer-grade digital cameras ....

D200 - 2006 - 10MP - DX - CCD
D300 - 2007 - 12MP - DX - CMOS
D300S - 2009 - 12MP - DX - CMOS
D7000 - 2010 - 16MP - DX - CMOS

These were all great cameras back in their day. But, you can see you've fallen for Nikon's release strategy of essentially the same camera every two years. Too bad you don't have a time machine to go back and save you from falling for their trap. Pick the one you like best and take one body and the appropriate lenses and have fun. Dump the duplicates when you get home.

The newest, the D7000, is pushing 14 years.

I'm going way out on a limb here and assume your post is not a joke. If you just have to have film, take the F3 and the 50mm lens. Leave the motor drive home, you won't be shooting action shots. Take the D7000 and the Tamron 18-270mm, That along with a travel tripod and a mini,(desktop), tripod and a few accessories should be all you need. Use the onboard 7000 flash.

F3- Good idea, But like the feel of the D3s better than the D7000, also prefer CF to SD (short fat fingers)
