Knightmarian, do dheagh shlàinte To all the Hog members I am so glad you like the shots of Scotland in Winter. Yes I was very lucky on both occasions with the light. In my daily work I photograph bands on stage at concerts and music fests. There is not a lot of photographic finesse in these shoots you bang out hundreds of shots of cavorting band members in continually changing light and hope for the best.That's why I love doing landscape, the subject stays put so you can spend time in getting the composition and lighting correct. I'm sending a few more pics for you. the first was taken with a cheap 5 MP P&S so it lacks quality, but I liked the picture. It's the lanes Edinburgh which take you from one street level to another, Edinburgh Castle is seen in the picture. the others are taken around the Highlands and Islands. I hope you enjoy. Brian

I am a Navy/SEAL/EOD trained diver (they were looking for a photographer at the time...) holding a lifetime NAUI card...later lived and worked in the Northern Marianas for the Pacific Daily News...yes...I've been swimming with sharks. But my Island nickname came from my love for Frank Zappa.
"Mudsh..sh..sh.....sharrrrk..." only true Zappa fans will appreciate this.......:)
The only fish I truly had trouble with were very large barracudas...I've been litterally run out of the water by them....fortunately I have never been "hit" by one but had some very close calls...still have all my appendages......:)

Mud, Explosive Ordinance Disposal . Now we are talking, me, Chemical , Biological, and Nuclear warfare, and still I would take on a lonely shark than a school of barracudas, them mothers are ugly and nasty. I was disengaging a fish from my spear and one came and took the fish and still my left pinky does not work right, F---`m bunch of barracudas.

Carabuco, I live in the South West of Scotland in the county of Dumfries & Galloway. My Avatar pic shows the village where I live, it is called Kippford one road in, same road out. The nearest major town is Dumfries, a town with a thousand year history.
