Admirable compositions and sharp photographs, even after double-clicking. I think you don't have time to set up a tripod, your great camera can handle every situation.
As an archaeologist, I remember that the ancient town was conquered by Julius Cesar but maintained the original name, Troyes comes from the tribe Tricasse and the original town that dates to ca. 600 BCE.
Many thanks for the great photographs, I hope you can publish books with them!

Great series of photos! Is the lawyer in #2 based on Honore Daumier?

These images are truly wonderful. Lighting, tone, density, all work together for really excellent images. The subject
matters are really nice. Those wonderful old buildings. They appear to be well kept and sturdy yet.

Thank you Kathy for your more than kind words, I appreciate your input! Yes, these wonderful old buildings appear to be in good shape, maybe the lines are not quite as straight as we expect them to be today, but that just adds an extra layer of charm.

Great series, Joe. All excellent images - I was really taken with the cathedral. Incredible structure. I also, loved the hanging lights. Looks like you had great weather for shooting and having a lovely lunch at an outdoor cafe. I'm envious!!!!

Thanks Rowedean, these two towns and particularly Troyes were a real surprise to us, we plan to stay in that place again for a bit longer if we do a start in Paris again, which is always very likely (as long as we still can travel....)

Thank you very much, Sarantis, for looking in on my mini-series again and your kind words as well as the additional information. We actually look forward to spend some more time in this great town as soon as we are in the area again. As for publishing books - I don't think that lies in the cards, presenting my images on UHH is probably as far as I can go!

Yes, I have to use an accelerated "production" for this series, as while I am posting, not much else can happen in my day, and I have to get ready for the next trip. Beside Switzerland of course, France is our most favorite place in Europe, we just love the ambience, the food, the language - brief: everything French and there is practically no year, whatever the main objective is, that we do not spend at least a few days in France, often for weeks in Paris but also in all different directions as well.

You have been playing a very rapid catch-up, I had a hard time keeping up with you! and thank you for all the input you have provided, I always appreciate that. I noticed that you didn't make a comment on the Dolomites (set 10) - not that I expect to get a comment for each post from you, but I just wanted to make sure you did not by chance miss that part, it was one of our favorite spots in this trip of favorites - and we realized quickly that we didn't have enough time and want to go back again, possibly even this or next year!

Thanks again for the “nudge” that I missed a post. It was unintentional. When I check under weberwest for your posts, and click on one, it “dulls” the title and if I want to see another one first, I don’t always know which I missed when I go back. That’s a convoluted statement for sure. You’re right; I’ve had a busy couple months and struggle to keep up. You are doing an admirable job of keeping track of everything.

Thanks Kishka for looking in on my mini-series and your interesting question. I was not aware of Honoré Daumier before, just googled his name and had a quick glance at some of his work - yes, this statue could very well be based on his caricatures, but I could not find any reference.

Thanks Ellen - you are quite admirable in keeping up with my rapid-fire presentations and I know that it is easy to miss a post, and I certainly do not expect you or anybody to look at all of my posts, but I fealt like wanting to make sure that you didn't miss this one of my favorites. Have a wonderful weekend! Joe
