Takes me 14-12 minutes to process a picture using Topaz Sharpen AI whether I use automatic or standard settings. Takes 2-4 minutes using Topaz Denoise AI using standard. Is this normal?

It is going to depend on your computer configuration. My "gamer" Lenovo laptop computer has an i7, 16GB of RAM, a SSD and an Nvidia GPU. With it, Topaz processing is quicker than your figures.

I can grab over one dozen 45mb files and process in that time frame or less. How much computer memory? Do you regularly power down and restart your computer?

A lot depends on your graphics card, RAM, etc. I use both programs also. DeNoise mostly. But yes. DeNoise works much faster than sharpen. I don’t have a great graphics card and DeNoise takes about 1 minute. Sharpen upwards of 4-5 minutes.

What are your computer specs, and how large a picture are you processing?

I have a MacBook Pro with M1 chip, just processed a 61 MB CR3 RAW file with Topaz Sharpen AI using standard settings. It took just under 10 seconds.

Part of the problem I encounter is that many times I don't even like the sharpened result. Especially when I magnify it. Some images sharpen up nicely. Others don't.

But my PC is quite fast, and it doesn't take long to find out.

Depends on the computer. Both Sharpen and DeNoise take about 5-10 seconds to process the 61MP RAW images off my Son nA7R V using my gaming desktop. My laptop takes about 30 seconds on the same files.

I wouldn't be using either product if it took over a minute per file!

Sounds slow. Longest I wait is about a minute. My version is about 3 years old or older & my computer is a Dell Alienware R5 purchased back in 2017 I believe. Check your settings in preferences & make sure your GPU is selected if you have one. Mine is set to all. Some photos go really fast & some might take 30-60 seconds in Sharpen & Denoise.

How old is your computer? I had a similar problem last summer with my MacBook Pro 2014 laptop. Both topaz functions took forever. When someone pointed out to me that my laptop was OLD and thus slow… I wound up buying a new one. What a difference! Now the Topaz adjustments take seconds, not minutes.

Please give the following a try and provide feedback including your computer's specs.:
The Graphics Card adjustment for Topaz DeNoise AI, Topaz Sharpen AI, or Topaz Gigapixel AI is Located: Under "File" (Top Left Corner of the program) select "Preferences", then "Application", "AI Processor" and select either "Auto, CPU, or (your named) Graphics Card".
Then just below that, under "Allowed Memory Consumption", select "High", as this is usually overlooked and may speed up the processing speed.
If your computer is borderline capable, Obvious Man also recommends that you Close Down ALL Open Programs, and do a "Re-Start" of your computer to clear the RAM. Then open Only what is required.

Time is a combination of your computer and the focus of the photo being processed. I have a fast computer, and a good photo takes under a minute, but a really fuzzy one can take many minutes.

I don't have a big sensor camera with the Sony A7iii being only 24Mpixels and it normally takes my computer about 6 sec to process.

When buying a computer, I looked at only fast gaming computers and wasn't disappointed.

I had a mac mini which took forever to process pictures, maybe not as long as you but at least a couple of minutes. I finally wanted a laptop so i got a m1 macbook pro in 2022. The same processing times went down to 15 seconds
