Ron that’s a great set but the peek-a-boo Lorikeet steals the show!

Thanks Bruce, yes my favourite as well..it was funny watching him as I approached, he stopped what he was doing and purposely kept that eye on me. When he realised I wasn't a threat he went on nibbling the flowers...

Two of our beautiful lorikeets, the Musk Lorikeet and the Rainbow Lorikeet..
Very common birds and found in the cities, parks and suburbs as well as in the wild.
104F here today, just put some cool water in the birdbath. What was in it was like it just came out of the hot water heater...

Really great shots!!

Well, Ron, you have almost made me start packing my bags for another trip! I saw a bunch of these on my first trip to Australia, but that doesn't mean I don't want to go again. But not when it's 104 degrees!!

Great images of those very colourful birds Ron. I particularly like your photo of the bird peering through the leaves of that lovely flowering gum - you even caught the perfect catch-light in its eye.

Thanks Richard...yes, he was watching me as I approached. When He saw I wasn't a threat he went back to eating nectar from the gum flowers...
