The image is nearly 3D. It jumps off the page at you. Nicely done.
Such a
breathtaking intimate portraiture of Sarah.
John you appear to have established a wonderful rapport with her, which is often pivotal to achieving outstanding excellence in the
Beauty Genre paradigm.
I can't help but notice the precision and artistry of her perfectly groomed/shaped brows which frame her penetrating gaze. Did she shave the outer reaches of those epic brows or is this your masterful retouching of same? So reminiscent of George Hurrell's
Classic Hollywood renderings Movie Stars of the 30's and 40's. As a commerical makeup artist I've used a product call
Dermablend to achieve the aforementioned without removing the talent's outer brow reaches.
The only suggestion I might offer here is to
color balance in order to tame the red/orange hue & chroma latent in Sarah's skin tones. The industry standard workflow here is to use the White Balance color eye dropper in CameraRAW before bring the RAW image into Photoshop. You are in luck here simply sample Sarah's
sclera, a.k.a. white of the eye.
Don't have Photoshop John? No worries
"How do I use white balance eyedropper in Lightroom?
The eye dropper tool is located in LR in the Develop module in the basic panel upper left. The way this tool works is by selecting it, and then moving the tool over a neutral area in the image and clicking to set the white balanceHope this helps John or is at least food for thought...
Thank you for sharing your epic artistry
Oh, if you're not familiar with Hue & Chroma...
Hue is described with the words we normally think of as describing color: red, purple, blue, etc. Value (lightness) describes overall intensity to how light or dark a color is. btw It is the only dimension of color that may exist by itself. Chroma (saturation) may be defined as the strength or dominance of the hue.I also recommend that you purchase an artist "Color Wheel" which is virtually priceless in scenarios such as this...
Here is a
Pocket Version of the one I normally use.
