This sequence was captured Friday afternoon on a blustery blue-sky day in South Texas. The Osprey's prey turns out to be a Spadefish which is a bit unusual for our canal environment. The combination of this deep-bodied, hefty fish and really strong headwinds made the post-catch climb-out a real challenge for the Osprey. By the same token, these circumstances provided me with several seconds of shooting opportunity. I have selected representative shots which hopefully depict the action sequence and validate the species of the catch. Enjoy.

Great sequence shooting 🤎 I had an osprey dive-bomb into the water about 150 feet from where I was standing, and it was like an explosion 💥 They must have skulls as hard as cue balls
