Hello! My name is Lenny and I have a story about my photography and how it started. Back in 1954 (yes, I was going on ten and helping my older brother build his first darkroom. We lived in West Philadelphia at the time and believe it or not, two of our relatives were professional photographers. Our cousin Clair was a well known portrait photographer and our cousin Max was a wedding photographer.
My late brother Myron was just starting out and at thirteen he was an apprentice to Cousin Clair. Our father was a fireman, but loved taking pictures with his old box camera. I don't want to spoil the rest of the story but I actually published it as a PDF, about a real live camera bug that was discovered while building this darkroom.
Fast forward twenty-four years and not only was I working as a freelance photographer, but my brother was running two professional studios and doing quite well. It was during this time period that I created a little logo as a gift item for photographers and the rest as they say is history.
That little logo grew into a whole line of gift items and was soon brought to life as a prototype puppet. There's an on-line store and the puppet is being developed for a youtube series that is aimed at the whole family and anyone that loves taking pictures, especially kids.
I'd love to share this with the forum and send a link to the store that includes a video trailer for the proposed series. Looking forward to your responses and introducing you to Photography's Official Mascot. The history for this character speaks for itself and I truly believe that you might enjoy this fact based narrative.
I thank you!
Lenny (The Camera Bug)

Welcome the UHH, Lenny, thanks for posting!
I grew up in Conshohocken and graduated from high school in 1955. As a young guy, I used to ride the steam trains in to Philly to go shopping with my mom. And raced on the "Surekill" Expressway before it was open.
Today, I live in Bangkok. Hey, I'm only 12,000 miles away!
Cheers, Don Watson
