Off-season = basically hassle free roaming and, in your case, superlative photography without jostling hoards

These are nice shots of iconic St. Augustine. There are many faces to that town. A small shift in only a couple of blocks can often effect a change in the character they project.

Your first shot, as the others, is well taken. In days gone by, the bottom level where the food service is going on, was considerably different. At that level, all of the space on each side was occupied by small retail businesses. Through one of those, a nice gift shop, I met the owner, Shirley Hunter....everyone called her Tommy ( or Tommie ...I never knew which she preferred ). Her place was named The Blue Max. The name alone drew me to her place. Long story short, Tommy was the wife of Jack Hunter. Jack wrote the book " The Blue Max " which the movie of the same name was based upon. He had about 20 major books published.

He was also recognized as a very gifted aviation artist. His forte was painting WW I aircraft. He had a mania for getting the colors correct every time.

St.Augustine is full of stories about " famous " people who lived here and the impact they had on the place. I'd like to see more pic's of the place when you shoot them.

Lovely set of pictures. Most are familiar from visits to St. Augustine, but I have never seen the basilica - maybe next trip.
