The problem with these idiots is that they torque the nuts with an impact wrench that tightens them up with about 250 pounds of torque and when checking them to about 150 pounds of torque, of course it's going to pass the test. What a bunch of idiots. Corporate need to train them well.

Depending on the car, lug nuts only need to be torqued to between 65 - 110 ftlb.
Years ago, I purchased a 24" 1/2" drive SK breaker bar because of idiot morons with an impact gun.

I got aluminum Wheels for my boy's car.the socket has 10 grooves and is skinny..we had to replaced the brakes so we tried to take the wheels off.we broken the socket.we called Discount Tire and went by and they gave us another 2 sockets. We used the next one and cracked it.the Crack was about 3/8 inch long from the tip of the socket so before we cracked the last one I got an idea to cut of the cracked part with my grinder just past the crack.the socket was just long enough to reach the nut.we were able to slowly loosen the nut using a cheater bar.the guys at discount tire alway check manually with a torque wrench to make sure that the nuts are tight enough. Using an impact wrench is a good way to loosen tight lug nuts, with very little chance of breaking anything. I've twisted several lugs off the car by using a regular lug wrench. I hate those splined nuts. When those tires need replacing, I'm going to get new wheels and give the others to a friend, if she wants them. The colored impact extensions are supposed to limit the amount of torque they apply. A YouTube channel did a test of them, but I haven't watched it, yet. I think it's "Torque Test Channel." I always use a torque wrench to tighten them. I check them again after driving for a day or two.

Although the guy at Tire Rack said that all their alloy wheels use those splined nuts, the wheels I got use the regular Honda lug nuts.

I've always put snow tires on all four wheels.
