You meant Photoshop CS 6? because Photoshop 7 was before CS1. I still use CS 2. I need Windows XP to run it but I have that.

Is FastStone still available as a free download? I used it years ago and found it to be pretty darn good for a freebie.
Yes, it is still available.
I am using it since 2017, it does all need, it is fast and easy to work with.
About half of what separates a successful photographer from their peers is PhotoShop. The other half is Lightroom.

Right on and the rest is dumb luck.

From YouTube - free alternatives to PS.
Photopea - best - ads
GIMP
Keira
Paint.net
PhotoScapeX
If you want to spend a bit of money - just once -
PS Express
Pixel Express
Affinity. $165
Oscillator Pro $50
I added Affinity when it was first free. It's 95% PS, but still quite a learning curve.
Interesting naming - CS6 is Version 13.

Yes PS 7 is the last before they switched to CS 1. So CS 1 is really version 8. So the person who has PS 7 has a much older version than your CS6. Current version of Photoshop CC 2024 is version 25.

As I've said many times, the industry needs better naming. Why "PS, CS, Version"? Confusing? Nah! I also have Dreamweaver V8. The following year, Adobe bought it and named it CS4, etc.
I've heard of companies hiring "Naming" companies to come up with good names for their products. I guess the photo industry doesn't want to do that. Imagine if auto makers made up irrelevant names, instead of 2022 Ford or 2023 Buick. How about a Cadillac M4, followed by the Cadillac R17?

Affinity Photo is only $69. The price you gave was for the full suite of Affinity products. Be sure to compare like to like.
