Just a thought...
Hi All,
Well it's the very early hours of Christmas Day here in Scotland. The Christmas tree lights are still twinkling and the presents are all gift wrapped and laid beneath the tree.
All is done. All is ready. I hope that there are some presents for me in there amongst the rest and I'm certainly looking forward to receiving them. But there is one particular gift that isn't actually physically there but which I know I look forward to almost daily with a strange degree of anticipation. And that is the daily gift of the UHH in my inbox. I've been a member since the early summer and it has become a very regular feature most days in life.
The Ugly Hedgehog provides a wide mixture of delight, entertainment, frustration, learning, almost personal tuition and a huge amount of detail and interest from right round the world and from many different cultures and beliefs.
We all read info and see images from regular - and not so regular - contributors. And strangely you begin to feel that you know just a tiny little bit about each other. We are not real Family but, somehow, we are - kind of. Does that make sense? I can't believe that I am the only one here to feel this sentiment.
So it is to You that this is addressed: the expert, the beginner, the interesting, the funny, the talented, the dogged, the teacher, the student, the arty, the techie, the regular contributor, the many silent "lurkers"....and to the Moderators of the site.
It is a real pleasure to me to be involved, even in such a small way, in your photographic lives. Thanks for the invite. I'm so glad I came.
Best wishes to you all this Christmas and Holiday season and throughout the next year.
Lindsay
Very nice. Merry Christmas, Lindsay. Bill

I feel the same way. I have made so many really nice friendships here. It is almost to good to believe. But the folks here have become my second family too. Not only can you learn, you can also help others and make some awesome friends here. It has been an awesome year here for me. I love all the folks here. Be safe for the holiday and blessed. Hope you get what you wanted from old Santa.:)

I agree wholeheartedly, we do become a sort of family, we learn little snippets of each others daily life and share in some of our triumphs and sorrows. Many share their knowledge with great patience and tact and a few don't mind dropping bombs or flaming us now and then, sounds like most families to me. Merry Christmas and I hope Santa is kind to you and your family.
Well said Lindsay. Merry Christmas and Happy Hogmanay to you.
As stated, well said fellow UHH'er
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you

Merry Christmas to you and your family, Lindsay. I hope you have a great New Year as well!
Thank you Lindsay, you have expressed very eloquently what probably a great many of us feel about UHH, but may not be able to say.
Happy Christmas every one.
Thanks Lindsay. This is the reason why I look forward to reading the new UHH's postings every day. All of you are such exceptional group of people. This site became an integral part of my life from the first time a read it.
Thank you all. Merry Christmas and Happy New year.

Since joining UHH I've almost quit several times. I sometimes think the topics and responces are rather childish or just plain stupid. I've had the feeling that some of us just like to "Rattle the Cage". After reading LC's post I am resigned to hang on for a while longer. You have quite eloquently expressed what I hope is the general feeling everyone here has at heart. Thank You All the Best to You
Thank you well said Ifeel that way too..Merry Christmas and a Happy joyfull New Year...and to all of our other UHH friends ...Dennis
