The NFL (not for long) will shoot itself in the foot if they continue on this path, I for one will quit watching football.

I just found out that the Chiefs playoff game tonight will only be available via streaming Peacock. I gotta say that this really makes me mad, as I don't have Peacock and don't even have a way to stream it on my big screen tv even if I did sign up for it. Frankly, I see this as a move toward having to pay to watch all sports and hope they have a very poor response and that others are upset about this as well. It was bad enough that the Thursday night games were restricted, but everyone should get to see the playoff games and they make plenty of money putting them on network TV. Is this really the future of sports on TV?

In short, Yes!

Now if they only show over Peacock, and no one tunes in, they will soon see the error of their ways. Also, Peacock hides and there is no way, that I have found, to email them directly.

I did have Peacock last summer so I could witch the Giro de I'talia, Tour de France, & Vuelta de España. It soom became evident that when they got rid of NBC Sports they also time limited the replay times for their recordings to as little as 2 weeks. That did it for me and I dropped the subscription as I don't like to sit and watch for 6 hours at a time.

What driver did you want to cast a spell on?

I've been watching your women's bb lately. I really like seeing Clark play! She can hit from anywhere and 90% of her made baskets are nothing but net. I don't see how she can shoot from the distance she does. Her passing is equally excellent -- only college player man or woman to score over 3000 points and something like 900 assists and rebounds. The other night when they played at Purdue, they drew a packed house of over 14,000 when their average attendance for a women's game was something like 4800! They consider her the #1 pick for the next WNBA draft but she could most likely go high in the men's draft!

I never mentioned any driver --- the races I mentioned are professional bicycle races in Europe.

And who gives a s*&T about college athletics and refuse to waste my time watching them or any Pro Sports except Bicycle racing. They may as well be professional --- wait, they are already professionals.

I recorded the replay on NFL Network and watched it this AM before the news came on.

Two options. Pay and watch...or not. They own the rights to broadcast wherever they want. We own the rights to boycott if we don't like it. There is a LOT of money changing hands, and they want some of yours. Surprised??

I have Peacock (with advertising) included with my cable. I normally record NFL games so I can zap the commercials. I had work I could do on my computer during the commercials of the Chiefs game. Peacock made a big deal of showing the 4th quarter ad free. But there was a lot of profiles of players and that sort of things where the commercials would have been. I know the NFL still has a requirement to broadcast games in the home markets, so I assume they got commercials, and Peacock ran stuff to fill the spaces. Peacock was running promos before the game about how showing a playoff game on streaming only was "historic" and inviting viewers to view the "historic" game. Talk about clueless.

Your right! I hear and see many people buying $200 dollar concert tickets regularly, and while no one like the price, they keep paying it.

I agree with you. Between that (PPV) and the involvement with Gambling it's clear that Goodell has turned up the make more money dial for the NFL. The PPV move is a clear supply / demand play that I also hope he loses but the inclusion of gambling in a sporting event will lead to corruption of the sport to enrichen a few at the expense of the rest of us. There was a time that these activites were the target of vice squads. It's now clear that our Government officials targeted organized crime in order to take the business over for themselves.

It's posted in the General Chit-Chat (non-photography talk) section. Is that hard to understand?
