PSE 2022 and Photo AI

I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 2022 for post processing, and Topaz Photo AI as a plug in for noise removal and sharpening. Recently, Elements crashed and when I rebooted and restarted, Photo AI no longer appeared as a plug in. Legacy DeNoise AI, Mask AI and Sharpening AI remain, but not Photo AI. I have tried everything I can think of and that was suggested by Topaz Help, but to no avail.

When I go to EDIT>Preferences>PLUGINS, Photo AI appears in the list, but it won't load into the program.

I thought about trying to reinstall Elements, but I just upgraded the ACR version so that it will read Z8 RAW files, and I don't want to go through that exercise again. I could buy and install Elements 2024, and maybe that would work, but I would like to defer upgrading Elements for a couple of more years.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I had similar issue with the older Topaz Studio 2. Upgrading to Elements 2024 didn't help. I exchanged several emails with a very nice Topaz employee, who gave me all the suggestions you probably received (and that can be found via lots of google searches). Unfortunately, his final words were, "That is truly perplexing! Unfortunately, I do not have a solution for this. Have you reached out to Adobe just in case they know something we do not?"

I have not tried to contact Adobe yet as life got in the way. I'll be following this thread with interest.

Thank you for your response. I tried to contact Adobe when it first happened, but couldn't find a way to do it on the web site. I'm not even sure how to reach Adobe.

The customer service number that comes up with a search is (800) 833-6687.

I've seen people suggest using their chat function, though I've not tried it: adobe.com/suppport

Thanks, Linda. I'll try the number, but I suspect there will be a 6 hour wait.

Adobe's preferred order of help choices are first, their user forum. Then second, their chat system. And, third the phone. All of that is backed up with near infinite tutorials.

Photoshop and Premiere Elements are unique in that links to the first two are in the Help menu. Photoshop and Lightroom don't have the links in their help menus.

The forum choice is predominantly a bunch of skilled, dedicated users. Response is typically fast. The chat system takes you to a page with small round text bubble in the lower right. Click on it and you connect to paid staff through a short maze of questions. Depending on the severity of the problem, they will connect to and trouble shoot your computer.

I participate in and post regularly in the Premier Elements forum. I do it often enough that Adobe has identified me as an "Expert" (!) and rewards me with a full CC subscription and current copies of both Elements programs.

This may sound simple minded, but have you tried closing PSE and then shutting down and restarting your computer?

Thanks, I did that. Also tried pasting the plug in file into the appropriate folder in elements. It's there; just won't load.

Preferences can affect plugins. Did you try deleting preferences?
