The most annoying thing about this is that "ViewBug", which I have been a member of for years use the same tactics to get you to "Subscribe". I ignore them all now.

My mom was old when she said, “folks get foolish in their old age”. To be aware enough to say that, I’d say she wasn’t one of them.

At work a customer older than me answered a phone call as he and I were talking business. I immediately recognized it as a scam. A “cop” said that a car in Phoenix registered in his name was involved in an accident (we’re in Missouri). I told my customer to hang up because it was a scam, but the old boy just seemed annoyed that I was interrupting his important call. He gave the caller his social security number and was digging through his wallet to give him his drivers license number. I very loudly said, “It’s a f**** scam!” That was enough to finally get the old boy’s attention and after telling him many times over that the caller was a crook, cheating him and so on, he finally hung up. The old man would have given the scammer absolutely everything, probably even the deed to his farm just because the caller told him he was a cop. It was like , “rob me please!”

Even though my mom was considerably older than my customer, she was certainly right about old folks.

My favorite scam was when I “won” $6 million in the “Google Lottery”. The email came from a Hotmail address.

Did you actually enter a competition? Otherwise, of concern, is where did they get hold of the picture?

There have been enough irretrievable photos posted here to keep this scam going forever. I’m not casting asperions toward UHH but social media is a dark and evil place.

Any site where I need to enter my name/phone# I enter a google voice number which always go to vmail or message. Once every few days I go to the website, enter my number and begin deleting. After several months, the number of calls received on the google number has dropped precipitously. My cell# rarely receives spam.

I now get scammers constantly trying to get me. I mess with them and thats a whole different story.
Today I received a notice that one of my pictures was in the running for a prize in a photography contest.
They included a real poor copy of the image . I attached it,
I would have never entered this in a contest , In fact I'm not even sure its one of my pix. If so I took it a LONG time ago.

Here is how the scam works. They say your photo is in the running for a prize.
A few days later they send you a message saying you are NOT eligible for any prizes because you
didn't pay the entrance fee for the picture.
You can guess the rest, If I send them the entrance fee my picture goes back in the contest.

Then of course I tell them I can send a check, they want anything but a check. They dont even want cash as they dont want you to know they are in India or Nigeria etc.
so now you have been warned.
I now get scammers constantly trying to get me. ... (show quote)

I was contacted by a person on Instagram who said she wanted to use one of my photos as an illustration in some publication & would pay me $200. I was wary but played along until she wanted my banking info for the payment. PayPal, sending a check would not work for her. Needless to say I stopped communicating w/her & blocked her.

No. Get what ? Why change tenses ?

Is it a time travel idea ? Or maybe the post was missing a word or two for making sense.

Sorry, you're getting scams for there are many of them out there. I'm far luckier because I have a Brazilian Super Model who will be arriving here soon to marry me. She's been sending swimsuit pictures of her on the beach and I sent her the money to fly here and to cover other expenses. She wrote to me that it may take a while to get her travel paperwork so I've been helping pay for her expenses in the meantime. 😁

User ID...

It is not a 'tenses' issue... See the below description of 'Bitcoin' and realize this is a 'play on words'

========== Per ChatGPT AI:
... "Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency, also known as a cryptocurrency. It was created in 2009 by an unknown person or group of people using the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoin transactions are recorded on a public ledger called a blockchain, and it operates without the need for a central authority or government. Bitcoin can be used for various transactions, including online purchases, investments, and remittances. The supply of Bitcoin is limited to 21 million coins, making it a deflationary asset. Bitcoin's value is determined by supply and demand in the market, and it is known for its price volatility..."

Hope that helps

The capitol of scamming in India is Mumbai. The police in the town or city you live in don’t have the resources to investigate crimes originated out of the country. The police in Mumbai aren interested and have a financial motive to not shut them down. They are corrupt. There are dozens of videos on YouTube of “scam busters” who hack into the scammers phone system and internal video surveillance system. One of my favorites was when the sent the scammers a box of rats which made for great tv.

Don’t forget the the nefarious military industrial complex is what saved out butts in WWII. And what is-was that MIC? A bunch of bad guys in dark rooms holding secret meetings? No, GM building machine guns, Studebaker building B-17 engines, Chrysler building the MX-1 tank, Ford building jeeps and so on.
